Two of my favorites (not original):

cherry blossoms fall
is a sneaky haiku trick

haiku's inventor
must have had seven fingers
on his middle hand

To be pedantic, a 5-7-5 poem without a seasonal reference is not a haiku. It would more accurately be a senryuu, but even that's not totally accurate.
