Wonderfull Community - 16/12/2002 13:30

I just want to thank this community again for being so helpful. I'm always talking about the cool stuff I learn here, and my friends are now surely sick of the phrase "on the empeg board..." So thanks to everyone.

ps-a special thanks goes out to Rob Riccardelli. Long story short, he was very cool about a botched shipment by UPS, and thanks to him I'm getting a new motherboard.

Keep it up, folks! This is the best corner of the internet!

Thanks, but I should be thanking you for waiting patiently so long for the insurance to pay out.

BTW, I agree with your comments about this board. It is a great place to exchange information. And to think... there once was no 'Off Topic' section.

Yeah, I second this. It's becoming increasingly rare to find any board or group online which isn't entirely populated by trolls and idiots.

I definitely agree. I have received a lot of good advice, and certainly have had a few laughs.

I'd like to give a special thanks to Rob as well, for the free DVD that is now an x-mas present for my sister , as well as the introduction to the CW-50, and other reviews that have lead me to spend more money that I don't have.

Happy Holidays to all!

I go along with every sentiment expressed here.

First thing I do each morning is check here, before starting work, for the immense diversity of interesting subjects.

Happy Christmas and a great New Year to everyone.

I agree fully! Because of this I've been checking this board a few times a day for about two years now.
If it wasn't so educational I would really be saying to myself to get a life!

The board really is a great place to just hang out. It's gotten to the point that my wife, who has only been to the board once, knows most of you by screen name...

does she know me? If so, tell her I said hi.

Same goes for at the Cinci meet. I had to spend time remembering people's real names, but it was easy to remember and just call people by their screen name.

Re: Wonderfull Community - 17/12/2002 16:00

Curious you should say that...

What we do at the European meet is give everyone a sticker with their BBS name (in orange, not yet had to deal with multicolours yet) and their real name since the BBS names are the one everyone knows - I only realised after the last event who several of the attendees were

All excepting God, of course... you should see the latest thing he's built, it's delightful (no, I don't mean tuners, read around his latest posts to try and work it out for yourself). Hope he brings it to the next meet (hang on, was it the RC Mini Mini Me that inspired you, Patrick?)

Oh, for those of you interested, start booking those tickets now - I have just reserved the hotel again for June 2003 for the next European meet...

Yeah, Rob, what dates? Gotta plan my vacation days well in advance so the boss can't complain and prevent me from going...

Re: Wonderfull Community - 18/12/2002 02:06

I managed to miss the two previous ones, despite living about an hour's drive away....

Schofiel, please don't let it conflict with the 24-hours endurance raceof Le Mans (14 & 15th of June) which I want to attend.

Oh, about this board? Yes it is absolutely brilliant! Thanks also to Tom (Drakino) and Tony (T_Fabris) for managing this board (and sorry to those that deserve praise also but I forgot....

Re: Wonderfull Community - 18/12/2002 14:38

Sigh - I've already had three mails asking for a July date - and I did promise Erlend (Archaeon) that I would delay it until after the end of his finals at the end of June - so who votes for a mid-July date, then? Post your proposals here please!

Re: Wonderfull Community - 18/12/2002 16:36

I vote for a mid july date for the reason you stated yourself
