Western Australia - useful info request

Was trying to figure out how many of the antipodean BBS'ers are from Perth or Fremantle as it looks like I have talked my firm into letting me work out there for 12 or 18 months. Will be a change from good old sunny Scotland.

I just need to try and figure out good areas to be in, where the best parties/surf/restaurants/neighbourhoods might be.

Can any of you nice folks help out with info?
