Test DVD?

Test DVD? - 14/01/2003 22:32

I think this has been mentioned before, but I had trouble finding it in a search.

Is there a good test DVD for home theater systems? I got a new receiver for Christmas, and it certainly has more advanced surround sound features, but I want to make sure I set it up corectly. It's also a bit hard to use, and I wish there were a good resource to tell me how to set this thing up right. Sony manuals have not been my friend lately.

ps- is there such a thing as a flat subwoofer for home theaters?

Yep, Avia Guide to Home Theater, Sound & Vision Home Theater Tune-Up, and Ultimate DVD Platinum.

I swear by Avia.

Also, I've burned myself a VCD that contains some still images that Avia doesn't cover (finer convergence grids, for example).

Would it be possible to get an image of that disc so I could burn it too?

Search on the forums at www.hometheaterspot.com for the thread "Better Grids than Avia?", someone there was maintaining a web server with all the images.

As far as the flat sub goes, I've never seen or heard of one.

Hey guys, is there any way to reupload or send me the custom grids, as the site is down?
