Im amazed by this, im trying to figure out how he dose it but i really cant.

Take the two digit number ab. (a*10 + b). Add the digits together. (a + b). Subtract that from the original number. (a*10 + b - (a + b)). Simplify. (a*9). So every multiple of 9 will have the same symbol, and that's the one it shows.

Also note that it randomizes the symbols so that the multiples of nine don't always have the same symbol.

The numbers and symbols change every time you try again. However each page has only one answer. Look closely and you'll notice the answer is also the most prevalent symbol on the page. Try it this way, try to find a number that doesn't have the same symbol.....
