"U.S. casualties were described as light."

"Between 2,000 and 3,000 Iraqi fighters were killed"

"Wilkinson did not specify how U.S. forces came up with their estimate of Iraqi deaths"

For someone like me who grew up during the Vietnam war (born in 1960), these sentences have a disturbing resonance
Body counts on the nightly news.
What's next? Those colorful graphs in the news magazines showing that we must be winning the war because more of "them" are dying than "us"?
What have we gotten ourselves into?
