That said, I had seen them before and have to admit they are fascinating in an eerie sort of way. His head looks so peaceful.

I've not looked at any of this because I'm certain I don't want to. But I have a compulsion....

The thing is, I know this one web site that I've seen spammed on message boards a la goatse, which I'm sure we're all familiar with by now, but it's much worse, especially in that it doesn't seem to be faked. I really want to tell my friends to not look at it if it's ever linked, but I don't want to be the one to put that bee in their bonnets, either.

I suppose it'd be better if I was just cruel.

I personally find it funny that goatse and tubgirl have been encyclopedified. No shock content within, but the encyclopedia entry does contain non-clickable links to those shock sites, along with semi-graphic descriptions (for those who are curious enough to know what they contain without wanting to actually see them.)

Funny to read that someone deemed these enough of a part of Internet culture to document the whole phenomenon.

In some ways it is more disturbing to just read about those, requiring you to imagine (whether you want to or not), what the pictures are.

On the other hand, it's pretty f***ing awful to see them, too
