Who would have guessed that the Mars lander was made of Lego ?

Maybe that's where we went wrong with Beagle 2 -- was it made of Duplo?

Re: Red Rover Goes to Mars - 19/01/2004 05:15

That would explain it all, there is no way Duplo has the strength needed for a re-entry...

...Lego on the other hand

Red Rover Goes to Mars

I didn't know London Transport had incresed the area, is it to make room for the Olympics?

Well, with all those budget cuts at NASA, they had to improvise...

Given the price of the damn stuff I'm not sure using Lego would ensure a reduction in budget

Shame the DVD is not a Region 23 (Martian) variant - the Martians don't have multi-region DVD players as the RIAA and MPA got there already and sued them for building them.

The code on the rim says:

This Mars Rover was created by the people of Earth. Sorry for crashing a barbeque into the other side of your planet.

----=---=-=--=-=-=-==----

====-==-==--==---====-==-
=-=-=----=---==----==---=

Took me about an hour to work it out...

What is it? Morse?

Nah. It's not morse. You definately need the first clue to work out the cipher however. Just doing it from the DVD ciphertext would be extremely hard.

I started by picking the wrong plaintext for the first clue, which slowed me down a bit!

Say... would anyone be interested in helping with a couple of nasty geocache clues that use crypto? There are three local caches (all by the same moron) around here that are just medium level crypto problems -- solvable by anyone who wants to spend the time. Or more quickly by anyone who knows what they are doing.

Eg. this one.
