I haven't found the way out yet.

Ah hah... Worked it out

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 08:33

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating at times.

It kinda reminds me of those old DOS-based ASCII games where you could see something on screen, but typing "look wall" yielded a "You see nothing out of the ordinary."

Damh you Andy!!!
Now I'm stuck in there as well.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 09:23

Trevor, care to shed some light? I can't quite figure it out. It appears that there are 2 items I can't find and they must be pretty important.

Maybe just a hint?

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 09:57

i got all the items, and i still cant figure it out. what the heck is it pointing to?

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:06

nm, got it. that was a waste of 30 minutes. =) thanks andy.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:07

Which items have you found?
Posted by: ninti

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:18

That was indeed frustrating. Some of those items are way too hard to find, especially around the bed. I was hoping for a better ending too.
Posted by: image

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:27

there's a useless item also. didn't use it for anything.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:30

Hmm... I have 3 keys, a ring, a battery, a cassette, a box, a CD case, a power cord and a piece of paper with a url.

Seems one of the keys fits the door but the knob won't turn.
Posted by: Cybjorg

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:31

Rumor has it that the extra item gets used in the next room (when it becomes available).
Posted by: russmeister

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:35

Finally I was able to get out of there. It was tough, though. Very well thought out game. A bit frustrating to say the least.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:46

Is there a strange way of picking up what is in the safe?
As soon as I click on it, I find my self looking at the CD player and having not picked up anything.

If anyone else is looking for the other bits in the room PM me.
Posted by: tman

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 10:47

Nope. I picked up the object in the safe by clicking on it.

I have no idea where the safe is... unless it's a red box.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 12:37

You need to open the box before you can find the safe

The Safe is behind the spoon and we all know you can't bend the spoon cause there is no spoon.

Did you put the weasel underneath the mattress?
Posted by: RobotCaleb

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 13:18

i could have sworn it was a mink.
under the mattress? the only thing under the mattress was a used tissue. maybe the mink had already been...

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 13:20

Did you put the weasel underneath the mattress?
All I can say is, this is a very strange thread to read without actually having seen the puzzle

Yes, I’m idle enough that I can read a thread, but not idle enough to solve a puzzle.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 13:37

The theme of this game reminds me of "Cube"

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 13:39

Cool game but yeah very frustrating. Can't wait to see the next room. I hate the fact that you have to click in a very small area just to find certain objects.
Posted by: wfaulk

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 13:45

Mink, Weasel; whatever. Did you look inside the tissue?

Whew! Done it with the hints to keep clicking away, I was missing the second ring which isn't really hidden as such... you just need to keep clicking... HINT: Forget about clicking on the CD player in any kind of sequence!

under the bed? how do you look there?

Oh I've already solved it.. I was just saying it's still a pain.
Posted by: lastdan

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 16:55

well I seem to have all the stuff, and I got to watch the little dance show.....but now I'm lost.
I see no safe, no 'under the bed' and I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing here anyway.
Posted by: wfaulk

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 16:58

There's no under the bed.

Pay close attention to the video.
Posted by: tfabris

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 17:10

Pay close attention to the video.
And... the thing that got me... Don't click it until after the video has disappeared from the screen.

This must be the most annoying and frustrating flash game I've ever seen. It breaks every rule about proper game design, and not in a good way. The only person having any fun in this game is the designer, as he cackles sadistically at our frustration. This person should not be allowed anywhere near Flash or any other tool that allows you to make games. At the end, where it asks you to donate towards making another room, I want to scream out to everyone, "No, don't do it! You'll just encourage him!"

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 17:11

I agree. Well, maybe not every rule, but a whole lot of 'em.

Well, when you have to click on the EXACT RIGHT area to get what you don't know you want, it's a bit tough. I even got one hint from someone, and still couldn't find what I wanted.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 17/02/2004 18:38

I thought it was cool took me about a half hour to figure out though.

Considering the super-multi-click requirement in order to get the 2nd ring to appear, my opinion is that frustration was engineered in as a *requirement* to finish the game.

yes. most likely, you already have it in your possession.

OK, I think a half hour is now officially the amount of time it takes to get stuck, and frustrated. I'm missing whatever is to the right of cassette. Must be important, huh?

Hint for a wuss like me?

There's more than one thing that you have to move the pillow to get to.

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 18/02/2004 05:51

7 1/2 minutes using no clues from this thread. Would have been quicker but couldn't find the blimming second thingy that went in the box!

I agree with Tony on the crappy design - very annoying!

The window must be visible.

Well, technically: the window must be made visible at least a certain # of times...

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 18/02/2004 12:59

Ok, now all I need is the battery and the tape. I'm too lazy to keep trying this on my own but I'm curious what happens now. More hints please?

Hey, who's playing the game here, me or you?

The battery and the tape are easier to find than the rod and the 2nd ring. Just keep clicking in places you haven't clicked before.

click more
Posted by: Roger

Re: Frustrating Japanese puzzle - 20/02/2004 05:18

I've seen the star. I've clicked and I've clicked

You need to click a little bit to the right, and slightly higher than the star. Careful not to click too much. Once the location of the safe is revealed, you need to click on it accurately, or it'll go away again, and you'll have to watch the movie again.
