Turn off almost any TV with a handy keychain device.

I must have one. And it's only $15 (+ $5 S/H).

I can see someone having fun and perhaps some form of retribution against a Circuit City that performed a poor empeg install!

You can have almost as much fun with a casio CMD-40 remote control watch and a large shop that has TVs as displays. Tesco, a supermarket in the UK for instance, tends to use all Panasonic units, which helpfully have the same power-off code...

All of them going off at the same time is good, but I cannot help think that a second or two stagger time between different brands might add to the amusement of it... Still, the same principle applies.

Yes, because of me that watch was banned at school. I managed to program the off codes of most popular TVs into it so could therefore turn almost every TV at school off, lots of fun. I also managed to unlock my fathers Rover 800 by learning the IR code from his keyfob. The look on his face was a picture. My personal favorite was Dixons. A few key presses later and the trained monkeys are scrabbling round for the remotes.

Come to think of it, there was a Mac at school with a remote, the staff obviously realised it would be abused so they locked it away. Luckily Dixons had one on show, two AAA batteries and a couple of button presses later and I had the shutdown code for the mac. The following week, many people lost work due to unexplained shutdowns.

Dredging up an old thread...

Well, my order of TVBGs arrived today. I ordered four. They sent ten. In a sudden, unaccustomed burst of honesty, I sent them email letting them know the situation and asking where to send the extras.

It works great, but it is really a bit bigger than it needs to be in my opinion. A little too big for stealth use and to keep on your keychain if you have other wireless or USB devices on it.

I expect that with the income from the current order run they will be able to customise it a bit more and reduce the size. Stand by for V2!
