Is there an alternative to CafePress?

Is there an alternative to CafePress? - 11/03/2005 16:53

I got an idea for a T-shirt for my web site, but when I go try to add a product to my CafePress site, their server doesn't respond. Everything else works, just not the part where I can add a new product. Sigh.

Anyway, is there someone else doing the exact same thing as Cafe Press, only better? Preferably, offering black t-shirts without a premium subscription cost.

I'm looking to do some t-shirts and I contacted someone locally who is in a band to see who he recommends. There is someone nearby who will do shirts for $4.25 a peice. I plan on buying a bunch and selling them on eBay. If all you're looking for is a t-shirt and you don't mind shipping, you may want to go to a printing place locally. You'll get better service that way. While researching, here are some places we came up with:

www.vgkids.com (local to me)
http://www.bluecollarpress.com/
http://www.t-shirts.com/
http://www.customink.com/

Custom Ink looks like just the sort of thing I'm talking about. Their online shirt designer is really pretty damn cool.

Only, it doesn't use the Cafe Press sales model where you create your own little free storefront that others can buy from. At least I don't see that there.

Is anyone else doing that Cafe Press sales model?
