Looking for part: Vishay TSOP1738 - in singles - 17/02/2006 15:47
I'm having a bit of difficulty finding this opto sensor in singles. Found one place with resonable unit pricing but it's in India. D'oh! places closer to home want volume orders. Like 1080 units from Mouser at 71 cents each or 54 units (tube) from Future at 97 cents ea.
I need these parts strictly for a proto project, but if I can't find anything else I suppose I'll end up ordering 54 of them from Future.
Any help?

Sweet.
Damn, Google sucks. Time to start another thread. If you're reading, what do you think Tony?

Um, if you search for "TSOP1738" on Google and then click the "Froogle" link at the top of the page, you get the exact retailer that Patrick linked. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how he found it.
Yeah. Google sucks.

Shaddap. I never think to use Froogle. Besides, I didn't say "Google's other services" :P

Coincidence!
When looking for electronic parts for myself, I look at:
Electrosonic Digikey Newark MouserAnd by searching a little more,
Arrow seem have the TSOP1738 too at 0.97$US, no mention of minimal quantity. I never dealed with them though.

They're the only supplier listed in Froogle for that part. I found a bunch of others using Google just not what I wanted ($40 shipping for 2 units, only 1080+ etc..)
And I too checked Electrosonic, Mouser and Digikey.
What's a phone book?

Try Supremetronic (spelling might be slightly off) on Queen St.W (Toronto) -- they stock IR receivers, I just don't know the exact part numbers.
