Seriously though, that's cool. If the project is over, I wonder what happens to the robot and all the code. Does NASA own it with potential to further develop it?

I'd bet that the code would live on, even if the robot ends up on a shelf. At some point, you could well imagine an enhanced version of this robot being used as an alternative to manned spacewalking or even being built into the spacesuit.

Good question. I think it belongs to the University of Washington, but I'm not sure. Ask him! Comment on the post, he'll answer pretty soon. They're just getting back in from Houston this afternoon, but he'll be online later.
