Qtrax - Anyone heard of this and will it work? - 19/11/2007 18:11

Qtrax, yet another music download site is claiming that you can download as much music as you want LEGALLY for FREE. Here's the catch - you have to watch an advertisement first.

Apparently, they have contracts with Universal, Sony/ATV, Warner Music Group, The Orchard, EMI Music Publishing and EMI Music, TVT Records, Go Digital, ASCAP and BMI.

I'm wondering how long the ad is, and do you have to watch one per track? One per album? We'll see when it launches, I guess....

I might as well listen to the radio, then.

edit: Ah, now that I've read the page a bit more... downloaded files are in a proprietary format, and require a proprietary player. Probably DRM-laden, as well. No thanks.
