Disable drag-and-drop text editing in Firefox? - 28/12/2007 16:23

I just noticed that Firefox has drag-and-drop text editing within form windows (like the one into which I'm typing this very message).

Is there any way to shut off that annoying misfeature? I have turned it off in Word, in Outlook, and in UltraEdit, 3 of the 4 places I do most of my text editing in any given day.

I can't find it in About:Config, and Uncle Google isn't helping.

Anyone know?

I don't know how to disable that- I love it, personally.

I just popped in to say "Yay! UltraEdit!

about:config browser.drag_out_of_frame_style doesn't appear to be it, unfortunately.

FWIW, on Firefox on MacOS, all I seem to be able to do is drag text to the desktop. I can't seem to drag it around within a form text box.

FWIW, Ctrl-Z will undo it if you do it accidentally.

Oh, yes, I know I can undo anything I do wrong.

My usual problem with drag and drop text editing involves having it happen when I don't know it's happened, and then hitting "send" or "post" or whatever, and later looking back at the mangled email/post/whatever and wondering what crack I was on.
