Notifier for Outlook Web Access? - 25/02/2009 14:06
Like GMailNotifier, but for OWA. Does something like this exist?
I don't want to keep OWA open in my browser, and my netbook's a bit underpowered to run Office.
Windows 7.

Is OWA the only way you have to access Exchange? That is, can you access it via MAPI or IMAP or POP or WebDAV? I think that using one of those protocols, if possible, would be easier.

It's common for some IT departments to prevent external IMAP, POP or similar access to their internal mail systems, choosing to use webmail as their only external method of connecting.
I think the reasoning behind it is reducing the size of the attack surface, and reducing the administrative burden on the sysadmins.

Which is why I asked. Generally speaking, if you can get to OWA, you can also access it via WebDAV, but I don't know that that's always true.
