How would I wire this GPS into my power system? - 14/01/2002 18:37

With Kim's GPS software possibly advancing again, I'd like to find a way to embed the GPS reciever I bought a while back into the car. It has 2 plugs, one for the serial port, and the other a PS/2 port that it uses soley for power. I've looked up PS/2 pinouts, and it looks like it's a 5volt interface. What would be the easiest way to wire this into my car's power system?

How about getting one of those plug in power adaptors you get for plugging into the car and running with that for the short term.

When I checked a while back, there wasn't an adaptor, but they have since released this one for it.

I'm assuming with this it would be easier to permanently wire into the car as well, since this is built to take in 12v, and convert it to something the GPS is willing to work with.
