Some photos I just HAD to post. - 19/01/2002 12:48

I didn't know where else to put these, but I just had to get them up somewhere so people could see them.

These photos were not staged, I just happened to have the camera sitting here at my desk with me this morning when she did it. It's too hard to explain, just look at these photos and they'll be self-explanatory.

Edit: Pictures removed, I've got some other plans as discussed later in the thread.

Well, you can go one of two routes now. Buy larger diameter glasses so she can access the milk drops more easily...

or

Get narrower glasses if you want to break the record (though possibly the glass) and get some even more torturous-looking shots.

Did you get any other shots? Like a better framed version when she had her head all the way inside? This would me a nice cut-out with a caption like "Mmmm... I love a tall glass of cat in the morning."

Maybe I'll have to post some pictures of my cats watching the empeg visuals and trying to play with the screen.

I think what is even funnier is picturing Tony there with the camera. If his wife was there watching it, I'm sure he would have gotten a dope slap. :-D

Cats are funny. Ever put a nylon sock on the top of the cat's head to make it look like a ghetto hoodlum? Cats will instinctively back up, eventually even running backwards into walls with the idea that running backwards will cause the "hat" to come off.

Unfortunately, no. The pictures happened on her second attempt (both attempts were HER idea, by the way, I didn't try to make her do it), and I thought it would be cruel to make her do it a third time.

She wasn't there for the actual "glassing", but her reaction to the photos was priceless.

Try duct tape on their paws.

Pretty funny.

Hope she doesn't try that with a milk bottle. I think Daffy Duck did that....& it WASN'T pretty.

Reminds me in some ways last year's most infamous internet hoax, the Bonsai Kitten thing. But, while the BK idea was disturbing, this is just funny.

How is Bonsai Kitten a hoax?

Re: Some photos I just HAD to post. - 20/01/2002 10:36

Well, no real Bonsai Kitten was ever made, they didn't really sell them, and the whole project was just an experiment to measure people's reactions...

Ok, if you look at it from the perspective of the sales area.. I was thinking more along the lines that the pictures themselves were hoaxes.

Doug Burnside has convinced me to try getting this on videotape and submitting it to "America's Funniest Home Videos".

So for now, I have removed those photos from the web site to prevent them from being circulated via e-mail and possibly ruining the surprise.

Do they still produce America's Funniest videos? Might be worth checking into.

Their web site still has the call for videos thing up, so I assume they still do it.

Because, as I stated earlier in the thread, that I took the pics down because I had other plans. Scan through the thread and you'll see.

I'll update the parent post in the thread with this information. (It's good to be the admin. )
