BBS - Linux only seeing 128 Meg - 21/01/2002 11:40

Okay I should really know this but I've just had the memory
in the BBS Server upgraded to 640Meg but its only showing
128meg.

The BIOS is showing the correct amount. Can somebody please remind me how to fix this.

I couldn't spot anything in the lilo.conf man page which is where I thought it was....

Cheers

So what was the answer to the question? I'm about to plonk Debian onto a 512M box...

I suspect it is the old faithful "mem=xxxM" parameter. Replace xxx with amount of memory in MBytes (the 1024 kind ) you have.

And don't do what I did -- forget the 'm'. I was totally perplexed why it wouldn't boot, until I noticed Linux quote "128 bytes available". I don't know of any OS that'll run in that .
