Gotta love it. USA national team outfitted by Canadian company Roots. Sweat. Wonder how much they had to bid over top of Nike? It's just too bad they didn't sneak the long-time Beaver logo on there.

NBC has mentioned afghanistan a few too many times already. Now I switch to CBC and it's like they're feeding a signal from a rogue helicopter.

Sweat? The U.S. will barely break a sweat putting Canada away in hockey this year!

Oh, you meant SWEET... my bad.

CBC.. hehe. I spent many of my summers in Plattsburgh, NY which is a stone's throw from Canada... I spent lots of time watching CBC and their newscasts looked like they were coming from a trailer outside the mall. I can only imagine their Olympic coverage!

Nonono... NOT sweet.

Damn, I guess the translation is lost in here.... Oh well. The GB team was also outfitted by Roots. Pretty cool opening ceremony. But I didn't know they had Moose and Polar Bears in Utah (one of the skating performances with the large silk-looking animal puppets).

I think I mentioned in another thread I was sleepy, didn't I? Don't sweet it.

I personally loved the fact that Bob Costas, usually a knowledgeable fellow, introduced Robbie Robertson as being a former member of The Band, which, according to Costas, was originally Bob Dylan's backup band. As if they sprung into existence when Dylan needed a live electric band. (They had existed since the late fifties, at least five years before they performed with Dylan for the first time.)

But not as "The Band." Ah, more Canadians, eh?

I'm just sad they didn't have an ice-spectacle about polygamy.

CBC and CTV Olympic coverage is always miles above that of any of the US networks. Both for presentation as well as sheer amount of coverage. NBC's coverage of the Sydney games was pitiful in my opinion. But at the same time, I'm glad. Because it means they didn't pre-empt their prime-time shows.

Watch a CBC broadcast hockey game sometime and then watch anything from any network in the US. It won't even seem like hockey anymore.

Just admit it. We, in the Great White North, own you. We do. Come on, admit it.

Too bad I cant get cbc here. Bob Costas is really annoying to me. He just doesnt know when to be quiet! Oh well, guess I could turn the sound off.

There may be other options if you've got sat-based TV... Don't know though. I'm on Canadian sat so I don't get all the sports channels of DTV.

Woohoo, post 1001 I think.

Further proof of NBC's way of doing things. They were showing monkey-racing (couch-potato racing, aka NASCAR, aka the most boring & moronic "sport" in existence) instead of the Olympics.

Coverage is starting right now (3:15pm Eastern) already behind planned schedule of 3pm. CBC has been showing coverage all morning and early afternoon. Outdoor competition for the day will be over pretty soon.

Yes, I was shocked to see nascar on NBC this morning when I turned on the TV. Watching cars drive around in circles 100 or 200 times isn't my idea of a good time either. I dont have satelite based tv, so I'm stuck with whatever I can find on NBC and MSNBC (Are they going to use msnbc at all for coverage this year?)

There was coverage nearly all day on CNBC.
