Total recorder scheduling help

So can anyone tell me how to use the scheduling feature of total recorder. I am trying to record and internet radio show that is broadcast using shoutcast and is on weekly.

Do I have to have something run the player program before total recorder ?

Or is there a better program to do this with ?
