What is this stuff?

These things came with my motherboard when I was setting up my computer. What are they for?

In that little plastic bag is a bunch of zip ties (I think I know what those are for), that ring thing, and those black things. What are they?

My best guess... extra mounting screws for the motherboard.

They don't look like screws. They look like little plastic pop rivets for something. Perhaps they're motherboard standoffs, as was suggested, just not the screw-version.

I've used those to hold a fan in place on a case, just push them in hard, and the fan won't come off until you pry out the center bit.

Oh wait! That reminds me! I think I know what they are, now.

They're the things that hold the mounting bracket for the Slot1 CPU onto the motherboard.

They are used for that too. I like to use them for fans though, they just don't come loose until you pull them apart, and you don't have to mess with those big threaded screws that if you don't get just right, it won't hold the fan fush.

So it was okay to use the metal screws that also came with the motherboard to attach the mobo to the case (via those wierd pop-in things)? I just thought it was odd that I didn't use any of them, and the instructions manual had about 2 words on how to physically install the mobo. It's about the only criticism I've had of it. But oh well. I'm never one to complain about spare parts!

I am pretty sure they are for the fans too.
