dumb wall street journal article - 14/08/2003 21:55

Anybody else see the WSJ article comparing the Ipod to the Rio Nitrus and the Creative labs Jukebox Zen nx?
It was really dumb. It read as if it was a setup to tout how cool the Ipods are. They did say they really liked the Nitrus, but that it didnt have enough hard drive space (duh), and they totally panned the Jukebox Zen whatever. They said it resembled one of the original walkmans. Hee hee...
Anyway, just wondering if anybody else saw it (I'd link to it, but the WSJ says you must pay!).
Seems like if they had waited a couple of weeks they could have had a real comparison.

First the article says:
[The Zen is] much bigger than an iPod
the goes on to say
The Zen NX is a sliver
They need to make up their minds on its size.

Or maybe it's a typo. Who needs editors when you have a spell-checker, huh?

from the article:
Unfortunately, the Nitrus simply wouldn't work with my brand-new Dell Dimension 8300 computer. Rio says there's a hardware incompatibility it's working to fix.

what may that incompatibility be? and will it be fixed by release?

It's an issue with a particular (new) Intel USB chip. Yes it'll be fixed.

Haha I'm not sure if you caught that, but I believe that is a typo for "silver", not "sliver".
