i go to the bookmark menu, 'set' and choose a name.
scroll down to done and press the wheel in. it sends me back to the playing screen and i go back in and choose 'select'. its empty
ive tried using the red joy press, but that does the same nothing.

what am i missing?

Re: bookmarking - 27/02/2004 12:05

I just tried it with 1.41 and it worked for me. Total tracks=2321, the bookmark was made when playing a sub-list with 533 tracks in it. I can now recall the bookmark just fine and it seems to Do The Right Thing.

After I was done setting a name for the bookmark, I pressed the red button to finish/confirm the operation. Is that what you did?

Hmm. I changed the name (left left left left etc, then use the wheel to set a name, I just called it "1"). Have you tried it with changing the name?

Thanks to Tony for posting this issue on the Rio Karma beta forum.

I was not able to reproduce this running v1.41. Can you email me at [email protected]. I have something that I'd like you to try out.

Cheers,

Not sure if this is OT or not, but my wife is having trouble with bookmarking as well, but with different symptoms. The playlist in question is the latest Harry Potter book, meaning there are several hundred tracks. The behavior is that sometimes when she chooses "select" bookmark, it instead "updates" the bookmark, meaning she has to traverse the entire playlist to get back to where she wanted to be. This behavior happens only a portion of the time (I don't know how often), but she swears to me she's gotten very careful about picking "select" option and she's not accidently hitting the wrong thing.

I have no idea what version of the firmware she's running. I can find out tonight when I get home, but It was whatever was current in mid January.
