http://www.austinv.com/comment.php?comment.news.116 has a post about some high resolution pics of the insides of the Karma, as well as a comment about a "Rio employee" saying that other small HDs and flash memory will work inside the Karma if you format it in maintenence mode. Pics are here:

Man.. why is it that the guys who usually do these things are also such lousy photographers? Still, it's cool to see the insides of the Karma (again).

Cheers

I imagine that it's much equipment as skill. I haven't (yet?) figured out a way to get good reference shots of shiny things.

I wonder how much RAM I could get stacked behind that display?!

You can buy or make a sort of inverted shooting blind - basically a white tent between your lights and the shiny object. You poke your camera in through a hole to minimize the amount of it that is reflected in the shiny surface.

For some reason I keep getting this urge to take apart my karma, hook up an 80G drive, and put it, the dock, and a power supply into a small enclosure to make a small home stereo appliance.

Or maybe put it into a car stereo chassis. That'd be great! I wonder why no one has made an mp3 player for the car yet.
