Karma resetting

Karma resetting - 18/10/2004 09:47

My new karma (first one stolen) has needed resetting three times in 2 weeks, it's getting stuck on powering down, hourglass keeps spinning, and the hard drive starts clicking. I'd only had to reset my old one once, and that was on the old firmware, should I get a refund or is it going to be OK?

Mine only does that when the battery is extremely low. The hard drive click might be a bad sign.

The battery indicator shows at least a third at the moment, it's the HD click that's worrying me

Before you do anything, make sure that you have the most recent firmware. Allow it to charge fully. If it still gives disk clicking after that, you may want to return it while still under warranty - but give it a chance first.

It's already on 1.68 so I'm charging it up right now

Hmmm... It was locking up with 1.68?

Yup, first thing I did when I got it was to update the firmware.

My player does this on occasion. I keep a paperclip in my wallet just in case, or smack it to get the hard drive going. I am also on 1.68 firmware. I also notice a slight pause in audio sometimes for no particular reason.
