Track order - 12/03/2002 13:00

Hi, I've just ordered a Rio Receiver from the US, but have just been told by a friend who also bought one that the receiver will only play tracks based on alphabetic track name and not track number. Is there any way around this without renaming 15,000 mp3s??? If not there maybe a receiver for sale in the UK Thanks for your help

Yes, the way around it is to create playlists.

It only plays alphabetically when you select songs by artist unshuffled.

If you create a playlist and select that playlist, it will play the songs in the order of the playlist (assuming shuffle is off).

It only plays alphabetically when you select songs by artist unshuffled.

And then only with the supplied (Windows) server software. If you use one of the third-party servers, it gets it right.

Ah, cool, I didn't realize that was server-side. Nice.

Ah... So does that mean that if I use the third party server software (was planning to do so and run it on OSX) I will not have to create playlists for every album I have? I *want* to just have everything setup like my server, artist ->album and for them to then play in the correct order. Is this how it will work or have I missed something fundamental?
