S/PDIF Output - 03/06/2002 09:05
Anyone know if it is possible to add S/PDIF output to the Rio Receiver? I don't own one, but others have suggested that the S/PDIF output board I am making for the RioCar may work in the Rio Receiver. Are there I2S pads available on the Rio Receiver circuit board as there are on the RioCar?

I don't think so. There is a picture of the board on this page:

If I understand correctly, the architecture of the Receiver's main board is significantly different from the Car player. So I wouldn't expect your Car adapter to work as-is on the Receiver, it would probably involve doing some different stuff.
Then again, seeing as how you got one working on the Car player, I think it'd be a cool hack to try on the Receiver. I'm sure Hugo would be glad to help give you whatever info you need.
