Newbie: Server Software - 27/08/2002 21:25

Hi All,

I've had my Rio Receiver for about a year now and absolutely love it. One thing I'd like to do is run some sort of more robust server side software. However, I want to do it without changing the client (ie, receiver itself) software. I've looked at the ones listed in the FAQ area and they all appear to require new client software. Are there any alternatives or will any of the 4 listed work with the original client? The main thing I'd like to do is be able to see what song is playing on the monitor attached to my server pc instead of having to rely on the screen on the rio.

Thanks in advance,

NONE of the ones listed in the FAQ area require a new client.

That's the whole point, you can replace the client, or the server, or both.

Cool! So what is the most popular one to use? Looks like jReceiver is pretty good for sure. I guess just about anything is better than what it comes with!

Thanks,

I think the only thing that you really need is Frank's displayserver hack:
