tRio 1.4 Alpha4 - No Listen Mode ??? - 20/08/2003 19:27

I've installed (Finally!) tRio 1.4A4 and JRec 0.2.5. Everything went very well. Paul, your install docs are great.

I have not been able to get the listen mode to show up in the menu of either of the 2 receivers I have hooked up. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Both receivers show up in the tRio Web Applet. I have set both receiver's access as public.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sam,

Oops, this is an embarrasingly simple bug - just goes to show that no matter how much you test, they still slip through.

I'll email you a fix to try out (assuming your address hasn't changed).

Cheers

YES !!! Paul, this is sooo cool. I can finally have my 4 Rios synched. And I gotta tell you, aside from this small bug, the install was painless. Kudos for a job very well done.

Now, if you could give me a client for the PC that would synch to the Rios......

Or a Winamp plugin......

Paul,

Can I resize the default window on the Web applet? I am going to use a wireless Tablet PC to control my Home Theater setup and would love to add a page (I'm using xLobby) to control my Rios. But it would be better if it almost filled the 800x600 screen.

Actually, I use an HP Testbook. It was a tablet they made for the auto industry. Bought it on ebay for around $175. And got the dock for 40ish. Runs Win98. Works well.

Try editing trio-applet.htm in a text editor - it's in the /docs directory. Find the <applet> tag and adjust the width and height values.

Yes. It IS that one. Same Seller.

Be forewarned though. There is no support from HP on this one. It was never officially released. So you're stuck with Windows 98 that is already installed.

I took a look at xLobby and it looks neat. Can you tell me how well the tablet pc works with it? How does it interface with all the devices? Does the tablet pc have a infared signal?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, the sw and setup sounds cool.

Re: tRio 1.4 Alpha4 - No Listen Mode ??? - 23/08/2003 08:18

Kris,

First - the tablet works very well, as long as it is Windows 9x/Me or Win2K/XP, XLobby will work very well for this purpose. There is a PocketPC client, but it only supports it's own music module, so that won't work for me. I need full control of all modules.

Second - Interface/Infrared. I use a USB-UIRT IR transceiver attached to my HTPC. It receives and transmits infrared. I now only use it to transmit.

I have custom pages in XLobby to control all of my standard (IR) devices. Press a button on the client and it sends a signal to XLobby server (the HTPC) and it sends a Girder event to Girder (infrared control software) and Girder sends the IR signal through the USB-UIRT. This all happens almost instantly. I have macros in Girder that will trigger multiple events with one button press. Like turn on the TV, Amp, Satellite Receiver, select all of the correct inputs, and put the amp in THX mode.

Finally, I have a control page for tRio. It is just an XLobby page with a ˇ§web browserˇ¨ window that goes only to the tRio web applet.

That is the basic idea. I have uploaded my XLobby skin and Girder GML file to the XLobby site as an example. It is still a work in progress though. The tRio control page is not yet in there. It wouldnˇ¦t work for anyone else anyway, unless their server was the exact name as mine

I now have synched, whole house audio control. I can't tell you how happy that makes me

Also, the dreaded LCD screen is now MEANINGLESS !! GOD I LOVE THIS THING ! Thank you Paul !

I too have this problem. I have set all units to public and they reflect that in the trio.xml.

It did work for me prior to 0.1.4 alpha4

Did this fix work? If so, can you share?
