VBR Performance Problems with Trio 1.4 - 14/09/2003 10:38

Not sure if this is a hardware issue or a trio software issue. In the past, most all of my tunes were ripped at 128k bit rate. I have begun to rip them using VBR - with files ranging from 200-400k variable bit rates. Some of the songs play fine, others "skip". The ones that skip are the larger VBR files. I know this issue is not related to network bandwidth as I currently stream video on my home network with no issues.

Is there something I can do?

Up to now I've had reports of skipping with vbr in HPNA setups, but not ethernet.

How big are these files you're experiencing this with? If the files are more than 6 mbytes per minute of audio, I'd suggest you use flac instead. This way you'll have 100% fidelity and tRio seems to cope with it no problems. The only gotcha is that you need to be running jreceiver.
