Newbir tRio Questions - 18/02/2004 22:22

Hello All,
Just got alpha5 loaded and running.
Receivers work great!
Using with arm on a Windows 2000 Server.
2 strange problems...
Seems like each time trio.bat is run the receivers pick up a different IP address. Is there a way to lock them down?
Also seems like there's alot of traffic going through my router and dsl modem after I run trio.bat. It seems to calm down if I close it. Any clues?

Thanks!

Ron,

On the ip address issue, you need to add a reservation for each receiver to your DHCP server so that they get the same addresses each time. If your dhcp server doesn't do reservations (many router-based servers don't), I have built something into the latest alpha which works off the hardware address (mac address), but this hasn't been tested properly. If you want to be the guinea pig, then PM me with your email address.

On the router/dsl traffic, try changing the "send-method" setting in trio.xml from "multicast" to "broadcast" (don't forget to shut down trio first).

Cheers
Paul
