Put simply: I don't want to lose the tag data, but I want to replace the mp3s. I can't think of anything better than ftping the mp3 to the player and renaming it into place as the fid it should be, which is, well, tedious.
Anyone have a better idea?

How about... in emplode, right click on the tune and select "Replace Tune"?

If I had Windows, that might work.

Actually, arguably worse, it's then tedious to replace whole albums.

Seeing as an ID3 tag is part of the file (last I heard), you're going to lose it no matter what. Now, if you're talking about the player's database entry for a specific mp3 (created from ID3 info when the mp3 was first uploaded to the player), that's a different matter. Perhaps one of the more technically inclined members of the board will see your plight and be able to suggest a simpler solution.

I'm worried mostly about the Wendy flags. The tags will be the same.
