I just got a second unit and was trying to load the 2.o beta 13 into it which I loaded on my other unit. I keep getting an error that says player not found check serial connection. It starts to do the update and at the very end is when the errror shows up. I have checked everything twice, ran a check on serial port and it is working. the unit now has 1.02 on it what am I doing wrong?? Thanks Tim

Do you have something else open on the port, like a hyperterm session? Verify with hyperterm that everything is working, then exit hyperterm. Sometimes that verification step sets up the serial port communication settings.

I have disabled hyperterminal, I even loaded the b13 disc on my laptop and tried to update from there, it gets the same error player not found. check serial connector

I'd check the FAQ for more troubleshooting info, but make sure you are using the serial cable that came with the empeg. It is a "null modem" serial cable (or something like that). I bought a serial cable from Radioshak once and it wouldn't work because it was a standard cable and not the null modem type.

If the cable works for hyperterminal or Tony's logo editor then the cable is not the issue.

Make sure that there's no program attaching to that serial port, like maybe a Palm connectivity process. Can you open the serial port with Hyperterm and see the empeg boot?

Now why would you want to do a thing like that?

That's just such a bizarre thing to read.
