Has anyone tried hooking up a radio-modem to the player to upload music while it's sitting in the garage ?

This capability will be available when the Mark 2 ships later this month. The Mark 2 has an ethernet plug, to which you could connect a wireless ethernet system if you were so inclined.

However, as much as folks have talked about this recently, it's very easy for me (and cheaper) to just yank the thing out of the dash and bring it inside, so I don't see a lot of benefit to doing it that way.

And, since the ethernet isn't dockable, it means that the unit is now pretty much permanently attached to the car. You'd have to take the dash apart to get it out again...

Not a pretty sight...

Not really.. you could just leave the ethernet cord w/ an extra foot or two of slack behind the empeg - that way when you pull it out, you just disconnect it..

Make sure to put a sticker tag on the ethernet cable saying "If this cable is disconnected, this car will explode" or something similar. Just an added security feature if the unit is ever left in the car :-)
