Eagle - Oncore/Trimble parts lib. - 14/07/2003 22:58

Here is a library suitable for use with Cadsoft Eagle pcb software.

Oncore Header - Just the 10 pin 0.1" header, suitable for a straight ribbon cable.
Oncore (Oncore GT) - Can be used as an under-pcb mount layout, ie, pin socket on underside of pcb facing down. (Deriviative of original part in 'Motorola' library)
Oncore (Oncore_mount) - Mirror of above suitable for mounting Oncore face down on component side of pcb.
Trimble_SV6, ACEII, ACEIII (Trimble_SV6,ACEII,ACEIII_mount) - Face down top side mount for said Trimble devices.

Note - Only "Oncore Header" physically tested in circuit so far. I've 'tested' dimensions against modules using laser printout and it seems to fit. I've verified pad connections against pdf specs, but a second pair of eyes would be nice. (Especially SVee6). Please let me know of any problems. (And sucesses )

Thank you sir!

I have the board layout done for the OBD part of the circuit. Basically, I merged the reference designs for all three ELM chips so you can build this for ISO, VPW, or PWM as stuffing options.

Stay tuned...

anybody know of a decent place to get an Oncore or Trimble anymore for a reasonable price? Seems all the good surplus markets have run out of stock of these things. I already have an Oncore but I wouldn't mind having another to play with.

I've only ever seen them at www.bgmicro.com . They don't have any at the moment

There's an Oncore on eBay with 4 days left.... failing that I have a Trimble that I could part with for the BGMicro price I paid plus some shipping cost. E-mail me if you'd like to do that.

Interested to see Genixia's PCB libs. I just finished putting together this cheesy interface box (cheated with the Dontronics TTL adapter) but I wouldn't mind redoing it with a real PCB sometime...

Hmm. I'm currently using a hack job in my interface. I didn't have any MAX chips around, and could be bothered to order one, so used a 75188 Quad RS232 receiver that I had lying around to handle both directions. Works fine over the short distance that I need. Useful that most RS232 chipsets accept TTL signalling

I'm also using a 7805 regulator bolted to the nice thick metal case. Power is now drawn directly from 12V, switched through a RatShack relay by the Amp Remote line. The Amp Remote line is more than capable of providing enough juice, but I was on a noise elimination quest recently, and that got changed. In retrospect I think that the noise was because of grounding issues rather than this, but the deed is done know.

You an optician? I was wondering what that copyright bit was at first

Naah, I've been wearing specs since I was 18months old, so I've seen a few of those charts.

As of their last online listing, Synergy GPS still had a few hundred of the old Oncore VPs for $35 or so.

I haven't spoken to them about sourcing small quantities of M12+ boards (the current Oncore), but they do have adapter cards that provide the 3V for the M12 and plug into an Oncore GT socket.
