MK1 Memory Chips

MK1 Memory Chips - 04/03/2004 19:46

Does anyone have a supply of the surface mounted memory chips from the MK1 that they could sell to me? I'll pay any postage & packing etc. Ideally I would like a few, maybe 12 or so just in case of doa's etc.

From what I've gleaned from the boards so far, the only other things I need to make it work are a modification in hijack, and a change to the config.ini. The soldering shouldn't be too much of a problem.

My empeg struggles with around 8k mp3s, and wouldn't start the player at all when I pushed it up to 11k.

Thanks in advance

You need a modified e000 as well as the hijack kernel - some of the tweaks need doing before DRAM is used. The e000 I posted before doesn't change the mk1's memory bank enables, only the mk2.

Is the change to the e000 just a mem=XX? Could I just hexedit in the value I want from my existing e000? I guess there is some sort of crc on the image....

The price I was quoted on the MT4LC4M16R6TG-5 is 7.70 eur/chip. This was for a batch of 40 chips.
