/dev/root - 24/05/2004 20:49

Hey team;

Since upgrading my 60Gb + 10Gb to a 60Gb + 60Gb (yay!) I have lost all the apps that I had place in /usr.

Im thinking that maybe I'm mounting the root of /dev/hdc not /dev/hda. Is this possible? (ie is /dev/root/ -> /dev/hdcx possible?)

The obvious answer is that I have the disks the wrong way around (master, slave) , but I don't think I do.

I don't know much about /dev/root, can anyone tell me how it is viewed / edited?

Either (1) master & slave are reversed from before,
or (2) all your apps were on the 10GB drive that got removed.

Cheers

Thanks; I had a look on the 10Gb and no apps were their either so I must have trashed the partition by mistake - best guess is that when I updated from the disc builder back to the devloper kernel I had the original 60Gb plugged in and so / got flattened..

So no big deal (just some confusion) and I reinstalled teh apps
