Cant find dimmer setting

I was reading the FAQ and it says the dimmer settings for the display are in the settings menu. I have looked thru there and in the hijack menu and all I can find is the button levels. Im trying to increase the screen intensity, i dont have buttons yet. Am I missing it somewhere?

Dimmer is only available in DC mode. Check that you don't have Forced AC mode set in hijack.

Thank you. Never did bother to check it while in the car. Always do my tinkering at home. Tho its already set at 100% so i cant turn it up any more. Ive seen mention to a known problem where the display isnt up at full brightness due to a capacitor or something problem I will have to research that thru the FAQ and here and determine if thats my problem. Thanks again!

The other thing to check the FAQ for is a failing power socket. I can't off the top of my head remember whether it fails into AC or DC mode.

Thats probobly one of my problems then. cause I can boot it up and it be bright, then reboot the player and its dimmer. Tho in the car I can almost never really see it cause of the sun. but i was reading that with the blue sceen i should be able to see it .. So I was going to see if the dimmer settings needed adjusting.

The first and fourth hits when searching on 'Dimmer' are the ones relevant to your problem. Have a look there.

What happened? Did you forget to charge the battery?

I have a 1972 VW Super Beetle Covertible. I installed a 95amp Alternator in it so I dont have power problems. I even got a special glove box that allowed me to mount the empeg in there so it has some shade. But its just extremly dificult to see it in the car. with the exception of night time or early morning.
