on my bootup, my display keeps saying back and forth, "loading music data base" then switches to "loading playlist". what do i do??

My guess is that the player application is crashing and restarting - possibly due to a
corrupt music file or database. First, (assuming you have a developer kernel installed) quit to the command prompt. Then run the player application with "player -i" to clear the current playlist. That might fix your problem. If not, there is more that can be tried, starting with
rebuilding the databases manually...

can you please explain in step by step terms how i do all this? sorry, but not very tech savvy with my empeg. wanting to learn tho.
And if you don't have the developer version of version 2.00final, install it!

i have tried to prompt Hyperterminal, and nothing. The COM port is turned on. And when i try to make sure and upgrade the developer version bc i am not sure its installed, upon bootup, its not recognized, and the screen still bounces back and forth to "Loading Music Databases" to "Loading Playlist". whats wrong?
