Click the "Latest Software" link at the top of the page for the software to load music on the player. It's called "emplode" and you'll want the "2.00final" version of it. You'll also need the "2.00 developer version" of the player software. It is the most stable and up-to-date. Both emplode and the player software need to be the same version.

For the "hard disk not found" message, you may want to spend a little time reading the FAQ. It is probably the best FAQ I've come across on the internets. But, since you're in a pinch, the entry you're looking for is here.

Finally, since you've found Tony's Logo Editor (assuming that's what you used to change the boot logo), I suggest using its Kernal Flash utility (built in) to install the latest Hijack Kernal.

Assuming it wasn't broken before it was shipped, the most likely problem is that the hard drive cable came loose during shipping. Look at the drive upgrade guide to see how to open it up and check the cable. If that's not it, read the whole FAQ on "No Hard Drive Found".

Good point, the FAQ entry mentions a lot of posibilities, but the loose cable is the easiest to check. And when you check it, make sure you have a tight connection at the drive AND at the board. If you only have one drive, move it to the "2nd spot" and use the END of the cable rather than the middle connector. This will eliminate a 2nd posibility: a bad cable crimpt.

Actually it seems to be connected in the middle of a hard drive then it goes to nothing, perhaps for a second hard drive??

Took it apart and re attached/tightened it as per the re crimping bulletin and now she is up and running, now I still have the software issue though, imagine I am 4 years old, then let me know what I need.

jEmplode is what I would recommend to start loading tracks.

Congrats on your first repair. Do be careful on reassembly to get everything back properly/carefully. Welcome to the community!

You need a matching version of the player firmware and the emplode loader software. Exact details on how to do this are here.
