Problem with emplode/jEmplode and DD-WRT - 23/10/2005 18:15

Being the pathetic loser I am, I have been doing nothing but tinkering with empegs and Tivos all weekend.

Oddly enough, this weekend was the first time I have had to sync an empeg since putting DD-WRT on my Linksys WRT54GS. Now, when emplode or jEmplode look for an empeg network broadcast, they find the empeg at the address of my router and that's it. It shows the proper name of the empeg, but I am unable to connect (naturally). I have to specify the empeg's address in emplode (or jEmplode) to sync.

I'm not expecting a fix (especially from DD-WRT) since my conditions seem pretty unique (empeg owner and DD-WRT user). I'm more wondering what would cause that and if anyone has seen that before.

Sounds like a bug to me. Maybe NAT being implemented wrong somewhere?

There is probably an option called "loopback" or something along those lines in the DD-WRT setup. Turn it off. It's some broken feature that apparently is used for testing.
