ReserveCache setting for Alpha11

ReserveCache setting for Alpha11 - 08/01/2006 20:38

I am running Version 3 Alpha 11 and Hijack 444. I see from the release notes that Alpha 11 is doing some reserve cache on it's own. I have extra memory (32M I think, it was done using the stacked chips method). What are people using for a ReserveCache value, if any?

I currently have mine set to ReserveCache=135. When I was running 2.01 I had it set to 180 and I rarely had any audio glitching. When I switched to Alpha11 I didn't have any audio glitching with 180 but visuals like InfoText would not scroll smoothly. So I tried 90 and the audio glitching was back. 135 seems to be working great. No glitching with mp3, vorbis, or flac. InfoText scrolls smoothly most of the time. It ocasionally slows down or even stops momentarily.

Using the 64MB memory card, I could never find a setting that worked and just went with no setting..

ReserveCache=32 here. 32MB (using stacked chips).

I spoke too soon. It doesn't glitch very often and the gapless playback is great. I will try lowering to 32 and see what happens. It ran fine for several days, but friday I had a track it wouldn't play, just locks on that track unless you hit next track before it tries to play it. I currently have 6000 tracks in my playlist and bookmark 1 seems to be able to save it ok but bookmark 3 cannot. Is this a known limitation?
