Hijack messages question for Mark

Hijack messages question for Mark - 07/04/2006 17:24

Any chance that on future Hijack releases that you can at least make it so one could turn the volume down while the message is displayed? I tend to listen to music much louder during the afternoon and when my daughter is not in the car... And the past couple mornings I've gotten in with the volume way loud and not been able to turn it down for 20-30 secs or whatever the time the message is being displayed.

I know there is a setting to have volume come on at same level every time and be adjusted from there but I'd rather not have to adjust it EVERY time I get in the car. It's easier to say leave it at the same volume from the drive to work and drive to and from lunch and then drive home rather than having a preset starting point and always turning it up rather than only going down only when my daughter is in the car...

So... any chance of this happening?

Which message do you mean?

Just tap the top button to clear the message.

Or tap it twice to mute the player.

He means things like boot up messages. Three days in a row recently, there were birthday messages (one of which was mine: Thanks, Mark! ). During those messages, you can't change the player volume.

I tried other buttons to clear the message, but didn't try the top button because I didn't want the music to pause.

How about this for a suggested behavior... Any control input (buttons, knob turn) clears the message and passes that command on?

The top button is used every other place in the empeg to clear a dialog. It makes sense that it would be used there, too.

Of course, I'm not a big fan of that UI choice, but at least Mark's kept it consistent.

Hijack v451 - 07/04/2006 20:08

Okay, Hijack v451 is out.

Two changes: the boot-time test of the IDE/peripheral bus no longer says "FAILED"; and the front-panel messages at boot-time are now cancelled by knob movements.
