Help - Frozen/locked up player - 15/07/2012 18:58

Hi,
I recently upgraded my rio Mark 2 by adding a WD 120GB HDD. It's been working fine but locked up mid song today. A power off and on hasn't cured it.
player software is: Linux version 2.2.17-rmk5-np17-empeg55-hijack-v508 ([email protected]) (gcc version
2.95.3 20010315 (release)) #2 Fri Jan 9 16:06:35 EST 2009

I noticed this error in hyperterm.
Mounting first music partition
Tried to mount /dev/hda4 as reiserfs but got error 19
and also this
show_message("Zeroing hda3")
/bin/cat: write error: No space left on device
Done!

Full hyperterm results are attached

I don't know about the rest of it yet, but, I know that particular one is not an error, and it is unrelated to the issue you're having.

Hm. Any chance that it's this?

I thought I'd add that when I turn th eplayer off and back on it does go through the whole boot sequence and then try to start playing where it left off. Then it locks again.

do you think this is related?

show_message("Zeroing hda3")
/bin/cat: write error: No space left on device
Done!

How could I copy files from the original 20GB HDD to the new 120GB HDD with out taking the drives out? Or shall I just taje the drives out?
I am a complete Linux novice/retard.

Thanks for the feedback thus far!

The log you posted appears to have several different startups, including one where the drive builder was used. The drive builder is the source of the log entries that say this:
Quote:
show_message("Zeroing hda3")
/bin/cat: write error: No space left on device
Done!

I'd suggest starting here, perhaps it's just a bad track: Clearing the playlist to work around a bad track FAQ

Tom,
You are definitely a god of Empeg! Playlist emptied, track removed and player unfrozen - result!

Many thanks for your help and thanks Tony too.
