CVS Stuff

I couldnt find anything like this in the FAQ bit.. (unless im being thick :)..

What can i do with the "export to CVS" option in Empload?

What would be nice, is printing out a list of the tracks with PINS mapped to them so people in my car can type in the PIN instead of typing random numbers and hoping to get something good, or negotiating the playlist structure, and then needing me to tell them what button to press and in turn crash my car :)

Which leads me onto another question: How can i get some form of program to dish out a pin number to ever track, based on the directory structure theyre in? Unless there is something similar done by default which i have missed..

Im guessing it will be an Empeg developer image / programming mad skillz solution. Which im no good at :)

Any help would be much appreciated. Newbie skillz.

Um, that's CSV, not CVS.

CSV stands for Comma Separated Values, and it's an Ascii text file with all the database entries separated by commas.

You can import this data into an Excel spreadsheet (or any program that imports CSV files such as a database program). In there, you can tweak and re-order the data in dozens of different ways. Then you can print it however you want.

I just did this (export and open in Excel) and it is great for browsing through tons of songs to see if any of you id3 tags were missing or wrong!

Oh, and by the way...

Your original post was related to PIN numbers. Remember that the Empeg is designed so that you don't NEED pin numbers to find a song. You can do alphanumeric searches, or you can scroll through playlists if you've got your stuff arranged by artist/album.

PIN numbers are really only useful for quick access to a few certain oft-requested tunes or playlists. Trying to globally assign so many PINs that you need a sheet of paper to keep track of them... that's more trouble than it's worth. Try using the Empeg for a while just with the alphanumeric search feature.
