Diode part number

Does anyone know a Radio Shack part number for a diode I can put in-line with my dimmer wire? I have the RS catalog, but there are a million different ones in here. Sorry, I am not very informed when it comes to electronics/circuits.

Just look at the current you want to take; if it's a dimmer wire, it'll be low current (mA). Even though it may be over-rated, an 1N4002 should be OK for this.
