It depends whether or not your existing stereo has a line level AUX input (and whether or not your dash has space for a second standard-DIN-sized unit). If so, then you should be fine.

thanks for the reply. There is a cd changer and a aux switch on my stock unit which controls a cassette player below my head unit . Im removing the cassette player and putting my rio there. If I could get a tuner for my rio I would probably just remove my main head unit just use the rio. To bad there all sold out.

I have a similar situation. I want to put a Rio in my '97 Honda DIN pocket just below my Head Unit. Space is not a concern, but the only Line Out converter I can find is here: http://peripheralelectronics.com/periph_products/new_products.htm
And from reading about it I am not sure the Rio will work with the AUX/CD.

Thanks for any input. Lurking before buying!

I think that some (not all) head units will only let you switch to the AUX input if they detect the presence of the same manufacturer's CD changer. This "detection" involves icky proprietary protocol over the CD changer bus, which our car player isn't capable of faking-up.

You should check with your head unit's manufacturer, or with a knowledgeable professional installer.
