Volume setting while AC powered - 17/01/2002 11:33

Hey guys:

I have been playing around with my player for a couple of weeks now and I have a question:

Should I be able to adjust the volume while in AC mode ? as it is just a pre-out level, I'd prefer it to lock at 0dB while in AC mode, and I thought i read that it did ages ago, but now all i can find is this "...will be at maximum (home 0db setting)." (http://www.riocar.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=FAQ&file=index&myfaq=yes&id_cat=8&categories=Known+problems+and+troubleshooting+questions#87)

Which implies to me that this is either a) a default that it sets itself to when in AC mode, or b) is assuming that you levae it at odB while in AC mode....

comments ?

If you are running 2.0b7 you can go into the 'Settings' menus on the player, then go into 'Volume' you should see an option that says: 'Fix at current level'. Choose this and the volume will be locked. Make sure you've set it at 0dB first .

The home and car volumes are saved separately. When you move it between home and car, it will properly remember your desired volume for each location.

If it doesn't, then there's a problem with the power connector, see the troubleshooting section of the FAQ at www.riocar.org for details.

If you choose to upgrade to the beta version 2.0 (do so at your own risk, it's not 100 percent stable yet), there are a couple of features to help you. First is the "0db cap" available as a setting in Emplode. This prevents someone from turning the player up above 0db and into overdrive. The second is the ability to lock the volume at a given setting, in the player's main menu. Again, this is saved independently between car and home settings.
