USB transfer hangs

A friend of mine purchased his first EMPEG (RioCar) player recently, which has 1.02 installed. His client runs Windows 2000, and he experiences these virtual memory extension error messages when trying to replicate a directory that has about 102 songs in it.

I did a cursory scan through the FAQ and this list and didn't really find any clues.

Is this a known bug? Yes, I'm going to get him to upgrade to the latest commercial release, but I wanted to get more info first.

No, this isn't a known bug, something sounds like it's wrong with his Windows 2000 installation.

If we could see the exact error messages that would help.

Other questions:

- Does serial and/or ethernet work OK?
- If so, did he install the USB driver properly? To do this, he would have had to install Emplode BEFORE he plugged in the player to the USB port.
